BioMark sensor Research, University of Coimbra
Goreti Sales is a Professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of Sciences and Technology Coimbra University and Coordinator of BioMark research group at the University of Coimbra (BioMark@UC). She received a degree in pharmaceutical sciences in 1994 and a PhD in analytical chemistry in 2000, all from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Porto University. She was an adjunct professor in the Polytechnic Institute, School of Engineering, from 2006 to 2019.
Her research interests are mainly devoted to research on biomimetic nanomaterials and biosensing devices. She is the founder of the research group BioMark, Sensor Research (in 2011) and she was awarded (in 2012) a Starting Grant by the European Research Council, targeting a new technical approach that merges biosensors with solar cells. Professor Goreti is currently coordinating the FET-Open project (H2020) MindGAP and has been nominated EIC National Champion (for Portugal) by the European Innovation Council, in 2021.
