João F. Alves has a B.Sc. degree in Biology from Faculty of Sciences and Technology of University of Coimbra. He developed research work in BioMark@UC under the context of the project CY-sensors, aiming to produce a device for the detection and separation of cyanobacteria metabolites with ecotoxicological and therapeutical applications. Currently, he is a PhD student at the Faculty of Engineering of Porto University (FEUP) under the Chemical and Biological Engineering program.
